Globelines Broadband Slowdown

About a few months ago, i applied for a globelines broadband service, the bandwidth was at 512kbps, the application to installation went smoothly. Then after the first month I had very slow speed and there are times I cannot browse the net. I called up the customer service and said there was network restoration going on. So I patiently waited, and now its done, I still have the same SLOW speed. I can't even browse some sites. I opted for globelines because as I was told, PLDT myDSL was a lot slower than globelines broadband. How can we make the Philippines an IT hub if we have very poor broadband services like these? The fastest connection offered by both ISP's, as far as I know is 2mbps and thats for Business accounts. My brother who is at South Korea is enjoying a friggin' 10mbps!! And he has a friend with a bandwidth of 100mbps and thats for a residential account!!! sigh....

i am resigned to the idea that's just the way things are in the third world .. its been like that for almost a month. the reason they (globelines) gave me earlier before the earthquake in taipei was that there was some network restoration going on. and now their using the earthquake as the reason. i am getting the feeling that their just lying about what is really going on. and that's what making me furious. im paying the full amount to get DSL service. and im not getting it.

my friends who are on another provider (pldt and smartwifi) seem to be doing okey with their connection days after the earthquake so that there is no reason why globelines should be different.

je deteste completement le tiers monde ..
